Job summary

National Highways is recruiting an Estates Net Zero Project Manager to lead decarbonisation projects across depots, offices and control centres. You will manage capital delivery schemes for renewable energy installations, heating decarbonisation and energy efficiency, reporting to the Energy & Sustainability Manager.

The role is based in a UK office with travel to regional sites; requires a degree and APM membership, and the ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders across Estates &

Qualifications

• Degree and/or professional qualification in carbon management, climate change or project delivery.
• Full Member of APM (Association for Project Management).
• Ability to collaborate with colleagues, experts and partners across multiple stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of energy and carbon management and sustainability.
• Good analytical skills and ability to communicate data to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver capital projects to decarbonise the estate, install renewables and improve energy/water efficiency.
• Oversee end-to-end project management from inception to handover.
• Manage data improvement actions, metering upgrades, and smart building controls.
• Identify risks, issues, dependencies and coordinate contractors and stakeholders.
• Develop robust business cases to secure investment and ensure compliance.
