Job summary

South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Mechanical Technician to join the Estates team at Bethlem Royal Hospital. The post holder will maintain a wide range of estate plant and equipment across the Trust's sites, arranging work, parts and materials and ensuring safe, tidy processes.

You will diagnose mechanical faults, supervise staff and contractors, manage minor projects, and liaise with compliance teams to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining HVAC, heating, plumbing, drainage and roofing in large facilities.
• Experience supervising staff and coordinating with contractors.
• Knowledge of safety standards and compliance in healthcare environments.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, service and repair estate plant and equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical faults and ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
• Supervise staff and contractors; manage minor projects.
