Job summary

Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust in Torbay is seeking an Operational Estates Manager to lead and co-ordinate day-to-day mechanical maintenance activities, delivering a robust, customer-focused service in a healthcare setting.

You will manage a mechanical team of 6-8 staff and oversee external contractors, ensuring compliant, safe operations, quality service, and effective financial management, with a commitment to staff development and a positive work-life balance.

Qualifications

• Degree or minimum of HND/HNC in a relevant estate discipline or equivalent qualification with demonstrable knowledge and experience.
• Accredited qualification in management or demonstrable experience.
• Continued Professional Development in operational healthcare estate (e.g. ventilation, MGPS, etc).
• Recognised professional qualification or progress towards NHS membership.

Responsibilities

• Lead and co-ordinate day-to-day activities of the mechanical maintenance service.
• Manage in-house mechanical team of 6-8 staff and external contractors safely and effectively.
• Provide operational leadership to deliver a customer-focused estate maintenance service within a healthcare environment.
