Job summary

Maxwell Stephens Recruitment seeks an Estates & Facilities Manager to oversee a portfolio of care homes across Northern England. It is a hands-on, on-site role with weekly site visits and collaboration with Home Managers to keep buildings safe, compliant and welcoming for residents and staff.

You will lead maintenance budgets, manage contractors and ensure CQC readiness, with CAFM and safety certified credentials preferred. A competitive salary, car allowance and benefits package are on offer.

Qualifications

• Experience managing estates and facilities across multiple sites.
• Strong knowledge of building safety legislation and inspections.
• Proven ability to lead contractors and negotiate SLAs.
• Experience in care, healthcare, or regulated settings preferred.
• NEBOSH certification is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Oversee planned preventative maintenance and repairs across care home portfolio.
• Visit sites weekly to assess condition, safety and maintenance quality.
• Maintain asset registers, servicing records and risk assessments.
• Coordinate external contractors, inspections, and invoices.
• Ensure documentation for CQC and health and safety audits is complete.
• Support on-site maintenance staff and care teams.
• Monitor budgets and forecast future needs.
• Report monthly on maintenance KPIs and compliance.
