Job summary

NMS Recruit Ltd t/a Russell Taylor Group is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead estates and capital projects for a private construction consultancy serving healthcare, education and public sector clients in Manchester.

You will manage a portfolio of capital projects, coordinate building services and BMS contractors, and drive delivery from feasibility through to handover, while maintaining strong client relationships and governance.

Qualifications

• A successful track record of delivering construction, refurbishment and capital works projects.
• Experience coordinating mechanical and electrical building services contractors.
• An understanding of BMS projects and the ability to manage specialist technical contractors without necessarily being a BMS design or programming specialist.
• Strong commercial awareness, project governance and contract management capabilities.
• The confidence to advise clients, manage stakeholder expectations and establish lasting professional relationships.
• The ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage several projects simultaneously.
• A relevant construction or property qualification, ideally supported by professional accreditation such as MRICS, MCIOB or APM membership.

Responsibilities

• Leading construction, refurbishment and capital investment projects from inception through to completion and handover.
• Managing specialist consultants, contractors and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Overseeing building services projects, including BMS installations, upgrades and modernisation programmes.
• Taking responsibility for project budgets, procurement, contractual administration, programme management and risk.
• Coordinating works within occupied and operational estates, ensuring disruption to essential services is carefully managed.
• Developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients, estates teams and senior stakeholders.
• Providing professional project management advice and identifying opportunities to develop existing client relationships.
• Supporting and mentoring colleagues, contributing to the wider development of the consultancy's project management capability.
