Job summary

Manpower (United Kingdom) is recruiting an experienced Maintenance Assistant for a prestigious College in Oxford City Centre on a permanent basis. The role involves hands-on upkeep, repairs, and compliance of a large estate, with a mix of planned and reactive tasks.

You must be practical, reliable, customer-focused and comfortable in a varied environment. Salary offered is £33,000 per annum with expectations to be on call for out-of-hours duties on a rota basis.

Qualifications

• Experience in building services or general maintenance.
• Strong understanding of health and safety requirements.
• Ability to work independently and manage workloads.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned, preventative and reactive maintenance across the estate.
• Complete routine compliance inspections including water hygiene, emergency lighting and fire safety checks.
• Perform minor repairs and basic adaptation works to buildings, fixtures and equipment.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency issues.
• Assist with furniture moves and room set-ups as required.
