Qualifications

• Proven competence in carpentry or joinery, including repairs, fabrication, installation, and finishing work.
• Awareness of building services and general maintenance activities.
• Ability to respond promptly to emergency maintenance tasks.
• Methodical, organised, and able to maintain a tidy working environment.
• Willingness to learn and flexibility in maintenance tasks.
• Strong customer service skills and a professional manner.
• IT literacy for record-keeping.
• Understanding of health and safety legislation and safe working practices.
• Ability to work independently, manage workload, and perform under pressure.
• Ability to undertake some lifting and handling of materials.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate, repair, install, and maintain furniture, fixtures, shelving, doors, windows, and other elements across College buildings.
• Carry out carpentry work to a high standard including measuring, cutting, fitting, finishing, and repairs.
• Assess, prioritise, and plan carpentry tasks with Maintenance Operations Manager.
• Assist with planning and setup of events requiring temporary structures or minor building adaptations.
• Provide out-of-hours maintenance support for College events and conferences.
• Undertake basic adaptation, repair, and preventative maintenance on building systems and equipment.
