Job summary

Manpower Recruitment in Oxford City Centre is seeking an experienced Maintenance Team Leader to supervise a multi-disciplinary maintenance team within an Oxford college. The role covers reactive repairs and planned preventative maintenance, ensuring safety, quality and statutory compliance on-site.

You will manage the on-call rota, support college events and hold a Full UK Driving Licence. This is a full-time, permanent role with a salary of £43,500 per year, closing date 18 November 2026.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in building services or facilities maintenance.
• Proven experience supervising a multi-disciplinary maintenance team.
• Ability to oversee operatives and contractors to ensure compliance.
• Strong knowledge of building fabric, mechanical and electrical services, and BMS.
• Comprehensive knowledge of health and safety legislation (fire safety, electrical safety, water hygiene, asbestos).
• Ability to diagnose and resolve faults across complex building systems.
• Access to plant rooms and roofs; able to work at height.
• Proficient with CAFM systems (LOGIT).
• NVQ3 or time-served apprenticeship or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support the maintenance team daily, providing technical guidance.
• Allocate and monitor reactive and PPM tasks via CAFM LOGIT.
• Ensure SLAs and KPI targets are met.
• Provide fault-finding support across mechanical, electrical, and BMS.
• Ensure resources, materials and support for tasks across the College estate.
• Manage on-call rota and out-of-hours cover.
• Deputise for the Maintenance Operations Manager when required.
• Carry out safety checks and promote safe working practices.
