Job summary

Exclusive Household Staff seeks an experienced Maintenance Operative for a private Surrey estate. The role focuses on day-to-day upkeep, with hands-on electrical and plumbing work and the ability to manage external contractors.

The candidate must be practical, discreet, and highly organized, ready to ensure the estate is kept to the highest standard for the Principal's visits. Working Monday to Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm, with flexibility when the Principal is in residence.

Qualifications

• Experience in private household or estate maintenance roles.
• Strong electrical and plumbing maintenance experience is essential.
• Proactive, practical, hands-on and solutions-focused.
• Capable of coordinating external contractors.
• Highly organised with meticulous attention to detail.
• Professional, discreet and trustworthy.
• Flexible with working hours when the Principal is in residence.

Responsibilities

• Carry out day-to-day maintenance across the estate.
• Undertake preventative maintenance and repairs (electrical, plumbing, carpentry, decorating).
• Oversee specialist contractors when required.
• Liaise with suppliers and maintain records.
• Ensure estate presented to highest standard for Principal visits.
• Respond to maintenance emergencies promptly.
