Job summary

Retirement Villages Group is seeking an Estates Operative for Paramount Place in Tunbridge Wells to maintain buildings, grounds and equipment, ensuring a safe, welcoming environment for residents and visitors. This is a hands-on, full-time role with 37.5 hours across five days.

You'll carry out repairs, safety checks, grounds maintenance, and respond to emergencies, working with the Estates and Facilities teams while prioritising residents’ needs and keeping outdoor spaces well cared for

Qualifications

• Experience in gardening, landscaping or general maintenance.
• Able to operate grounds equipment safely.
• Strong health and safety awareness; COSHH experience beneficial.
• Customer-focused with residents and colleagues.
• Reliable, proactive and able to prioritise tasks.
• Physical ability for year-round outdoor work.

Responsibilities

• Maintain village buildings and grounds according to maintenance schedules.
• Carry out repairs and report faults.
• Perform safety and alarm system checks.
• Keep paths and walkways safe (snow/ice in winter).
• Operate tools and machinery and manage chemical supplies.
• Respond to emergency calls and provide first aid when required.
• Collaborate with Estates and Facilities teams to uphold high standards.
