Job summary

Avonpark Village, part of Retirement Villages Group, is seeking an Estates Operative to keep our residents’ environment safe, comfortable and attractive. You’ll handle routine maintenance, outdoor care and respond to requests to ensure spaces are well maintained and welcoming.

You’ll inspect buildings and equipment, ensure lighting, lifts and emergency systems work, and work with the Facilities Manager on monthly checks, winter gritting, decorating and minor repairs.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance or similar role preferred.
• Comfort using hand and power tools safely.
• Good communication and people skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out regular inspections of buildings, equipment, and communal areas.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from residents and staff.
• Maintain outdoor spaces including gardens, woodlands, fences, and paths.
• Support decorating, painting, and minor repairs.
• Work with Facilities Manager on monthly checks and safety concerns.
• Treat roads and pathways with salt/grit in winter.
