Job summary

New City College Redbridge campus is seeking an ESOL Pastoral Tutor to support 16–19-year-old ESOL learners in a part-time, permanent role. You will deliver weekly group tutorials and 1:1 pastoral support, helping learners build confidence, set SMART targets and stay engaged with their studies, while working with staff to monitor attendance, progress and wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with ESOL learners and understanding their pastoral and communication needs.
• Ability to build trust with learners from diverse backgrounds and collaborate with staff.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging weekly group tutorials for 16–19-year-old ESOL learners.
• Provide 1:1 pastoral support and help learners set and review SMART targets.
• Monitor attendance, engagement and progress, coordinating support where needed.
• Work with ESOL teaching staff and wider college teams to promote student success.
• Support enrichment activities and ensure safeguarding and wellbeing.
