Job summary

Avanti Recruitment is partnering with a small engineering and technology company in Ely to appoint an ERP Engineer for a greenfield ERPNext project. You will own the ERPNext environment end to end, with hands-on coding, customisation and integrations in a Linux server context.

The role focuses on implementing ERPNext, tailoring processes for manufacturing, stock and procurement, and delivering reports and workflows. Hybrid work with 4 days onsite and 1 day remote.

Qualifications

• Strong ERP implementation experience with hands-on coding.
• Deep SQL and API/integration capabilities.
• Good Linux server administration and self-hosted systems experience.
• Experience with ERPNext/Frappe is ideal or comparable ERP platforms.
• Background in manufacturing, stock, procurement or similar ERP processes.

Responsibilities

• Implement and configure ERPNext from scratch for a greenfield deployment.
• Customise ERPNext/Frappe around internal business processes.
• Develop custom functionality and scripts as needed.
• Work with Python/Frappe, SQL and APIs to build integrations.
• Manage self-hosted Linux server environment and deployments.
• Support upgrades, backups, monitoring and ongoing administration.
• Support manufacturing, stock, procurement and inventory workflows.
• Build reports, dashboards and workflows; migrate/validate data.
• Integrate ERPNext with other business systems and align with stakeholders.
• Contribute to training, go-live support and continuous improvements.

Job description

We are working with a small engineering and technology company in Ely that is looking for a technically strong ERP Engineer to take ownership of a completely greenfield ERPNext implementation.

The business is developing advanced industrial measurement technology and is currently at an early prototype stage. As the company grows, they are looking to introduce ERPNext as the central system for managing manufacturing, stock, procurement, engineering processes, HR and wider business operations.

This is not a support-only or purely functional ERP role. They need someone who understands ERP systems properly, but who is also comfortable working hands‑on with code, integrations, SQL and the underlying Linux environment.

Direct ERPNext/Frappe experience would be ideal, but they are also open to people from other ERP backgrounds who have strong technical depth and can demonstrate that they have customised, integrated and taken ownership of complex ERP environments.

What you ll be doing

You will take responsibility for the ERPNext environment end to end, including:

• Implementing and configuring ERPNext from scratch
• Customising ERPNext/Frappe around internal business processes
• Developing custom functionality and scripts where required
• Working with Python/Frappe, SQL and APIs
• Managing the self-hosted Linux server environment
• Supporting deployment, upgrades, backups, monitoring and ongoing administration
• Supporting manufacturing, stock, procurement and inventory workflows
• Building reports, dashboards and workflows
• Migrating and validating existing data
• Integrating ERPNext with other business systems
• Working directly with internal stakeholders to understand requirements
• Supporting training, go‑live and ongoing improvements

What we re looking for

We are particularly interested in people who have:

• Strong ERP implementation or ERP engineering experience
• Hands‑on experience customising ERP systems rather than only supporting them
• Coding or scripting experience, ideally Python
• Strong SQL and API/integration experience
• Good Linux server administration experience
• Experience owning or supporting self‑hosted business‑critical systems
• Experience with manufacturing, stock, inventory, procurement or similar ERP processes
• Strong ownership and communication skills

Direct ERPNext/Frappe experience would be highly desirable, particularly around customisation, API integration and production deployment.

Experience with MariaDB, Redis, Nginx, shell scripting, Xero integrations, BOM/MRP processes or PLM environments would also be useful.
