Job summary

Emerus is seeking an ER support professional for PRN night shifts (7pm–7am) at a 20-bed small-format hospital (10 ER, 10 Inpatient). The role focuses on patient care support, vital signs, specimen collection, and maintaining a safe, clean environment.

Essential qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and active BLS; EMT/paramedic or CNA pathways are preferred depending on markets, with ACLS/ALS and PALS strongly preferred. Travel to all facility locations may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• BLS certification required; ACLS/ALS preferred in most markets.
• PALS certification strongly preferred.
• ER-related experience (EMT/paramedic or CNA) preferred depending on market.

Responsibilities

• Collect, report, and document clinical data; take vital signs and collect specimens.
• Collect lab samples and perform testing per policies and CLIA regulations.
• Assist with patient activities and care as directed by the charge nurse.
• Provide superficial wound care and patient safety measures.
• Maintain patient privacy and infection control practices.
• Assist with admission, transfer, and discharge processes.
• Travel to all facility locations as required.
• Attend staff meetings and perform additional duties as assigned.
