Job summary

Sussex Equine Hospital Ltd in Pulborough is seeking an enthusiastic Equine Veterinary Nurse for a part-time, fixed-term contract of around 12 months. You will join a welcoming team delivering high-quality nursing care to a range of equine patients and support clients' experiences.

The role involves inpatient care, medical records, collaboration with surgeons, and involvement in imaging and diagnostic procedures. 32 hours per week, varied shifts, weekend cover and on-call as needed.

Qualifications

• Registration as a Veterinary Nurse with the RCVS is required.
• Experience in clinical practice with nursing and surgery is desirable.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships with clients and colleagues.
• Good organisational skills and workload management.
• Proactive approach to learning, reflection and improvement.

Responsibilities

• Delivering high-quality inpatient care, including safe animal handling and nursing within specialist units.
• Maintaining medical records to professional, accurate, and compliant standards.
• Collaborating with veterinary surgeons and multidisciplinary teams.
• Supporting advanced diagnostic imaging procedures (MRI/CT).
• Assisting with diagnostic techniques (ultrasonography, gamma scintigraphy).
• Assisting clinicians during various surgical procedures (standing and anaesthetised).
