Job summary

Derby College Group is seeking a Teacher of Equine (Maternity Cover) at the Broomfield Hall campus to plan, deliver and assess riding and practical stable management. The role focuses on high-quality FE teaching with opportunities for trips, recruitment events and student work experience.

The successful candidate will have a strong coaching background, readiness for a fast-paced environment and a BHS Stage 2 Coach qualification (Stage 3 desirable).

Qualifications

• Strong riding coaching skills and ability to teach practical stable management.
• Experience in horse welfare, groundwork, and behavior.
• FE/HE teaching experience is advantageous.
• Flexible, self-motivated and committed to high-quality learning.

Responsibilities

• Plan, resource and deliver high-quality riding and equine lessons with assessment.
• Lead FE riding lessons and oversee internal quality assurance.
• Support students with progress monitoring and pastoral support.
• Contribute to course trips, recruitment activities and information evenings.
• Support student work experience on the college yard.
