Job summary

Derby College Group is seeking a Teacher of Equine (Maternity Cover) to join our team at Broomfield Hall. You will plan, deliver and assess riding and practical stable management as part of our FE programmes, with a focus on coaching and animal welfare, including horse health and behaviour.

You will lead riding lessons, support student progress, and participate in trips, recruitment events and work experience supervision, while maintaining high standards in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Strong industry experience and a passion for student success.
• BHS Stage 2 Coach is required; Stage 3 Coach is desirable.
• Teaching experience in FE/HE is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Plan, resource and deliver high-quality equine teaching and assessment.
• Lead FE riding lessons and oversee quality assurance and progression.
• Support students with target setting, progress monitoring and pastoral support.
• Contribute to trips, recruitment activities and open events.
