Job summary

New Hall School is seeking a Groom to care for the horses at our Learn-to-Ride Centre and New Hall Park Farm. You will help with yard operations, welfare, grooming, and supporting riding lessons and events.

Key requirements include a BHS Stable Management qualification (or equivalent experience) and GCSEs in English and Maths, along with a full UK driving licence. The role requires strong communication, Organisation and safeguarding awareness in a Catholic independent school setting.

Qualifications

• Experience on a yard and coordinating stable duties
• Ability to administer first aid to horses
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Willingness to work towards BHS qualification

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, safe, well‑organised yard and assist with stock control and staff cover
• Promote health, safety and safeguarding and perform routine checks
• Ensure high standards of horse welfare including daily health checks and routine care
• Prepare, exercise and help manage horses including maintenance of tack and equipment
• Support riding activities and lead rein sessions and lunging as trained
• Assist with events, visitor engagement and administrative tasks
