Job summary

New Hall School seeks a Groom to care for the school's horses and support the equestrian provision at the Learn-to-Ride Centre and the nearby livery yard. The successful candidate will have a BHS Stable Management qualification (or equivalent) and a good background in yard work, horse handling and care, with strong organisational and communication skills.

A full UK driving licence and experience with young people are desirable, along with a commitment to safeguarding and to the school's Catholic

Qualifications

• BHS Stable Management qualification or equivalent experience with willingness to qualify
• GCSE English and Mathematics grade 5/C or above

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, safe and well‑organised yard and assist with maintenance, stock control and staff cover
• Promote health, safety and safeguarding, carry out routine checks and administer first aid within competence
• Ensure high standards of horse care and welfare, daily health checks, stable and field management, grooming and routine care
• Prepare, exercise and manage horses including tacking/untacking, turnout and equipment upkeep
• Support riding activities and lessons, assist with lead rein sessions and lunging where trained
• Assist with events, visitor engagement and administrative coordination, including veterinary and farriery visits and record keeping
