Job summary

CFA Institute is seeking an Associate Manager, Content Production & Delivery, EPUB, to own the workflow that transforms CFA Institute’s structured source XML content into high-quality, accessible EPUB outputs.

You will improve the transformation process, reduce downstream quality issues, and increase production speed and reliability as content volume grows. This role emphasizes XML expertise and end-to-end publishing discipline.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with XML and structured content in a digital publishing environment.
• Practical understanding of single-source publishing and transforming structured content into multiple formats.
• Experience with XML structures, schemas, DTDs or comparable standards.
• Proven ability to produce digital publishing outputs and manage data behind transformations.
• Ability to identify and resolve problems within publishing pipelines, not just final outputs.
• Experience improving workflows to reduce errors, rework, and manual intervention.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills across transformation processes.
• Knowledge of EPUB production, accessibility and cross-device rendering.

Responsibilities

• Own the EPUB publishing pipeline ensuring outputs are accurate, accessible, and consistent.
• Analyze errors from Quality Review and implement changes to prevent recurrence.
• Improve throughput by reducing rework and building smoother transformation processes.
• Work hands-on with the master XML dataset behind CFA Institute’s single-source publishing model.
• Maintain and optimize EPUB transformation, rendering, and validation workflows.
• Investigate device- and reader-specific rendering issues and validate fixes across environments.
• Ensure outputs meet accessibility, semantic tagging, and presentation standards.
• Design and implement workflow and automation improvements within publishing standards.
• Coordinate with Content Technology or other specialists for complex cross-platform issues.
• Maintain clear workflow documentation and standards for team-wide use.
