Job summary

AECOM is seeking an experienced Electrical/Power Monitoring and Controls System Engineer (EPMS/PMS) to lead design and delivery for data centre projects across the UK. You will work with a multidisciplinary team, drive system solutions, and liaise with clients, architects and M&E teams to ensure compliant, efficient outcomes.

Ideal candidates have data centre design exposure, strong leadership, and a proactive approach to project delivery, with willingness to travel and adapt to hybrid working

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in electrical engineering with building services bias (or equivalent experience).
• Member of IET or CIBSE professional body.
• CEng accreditation or working towards it.
• Proven track record delivering EPMS and controls designs across architectures.
• Team player able to deliver electrical designs with wider disciplines.
• Post-qualification experience in building services design for data centres.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and oversee contractor implementation of EPMS/PMS across architectures, meeting client and regulatory needs.
• Engage with clients, architects, M&E teams, contractors and senior management; build strong relationships.
• Manage complex projects from feasibility to tender, cost/bid analysis and progress reporting.
• Conduct surveys, FAT/SAT testing; provide reports, recommendations and client training to improve performance.
• Drive business development; mentor EPMS/PMS team; promote knowledge sharing and innovation in smart building tech.
• Promote SH&E best practices; ensure compliance and foster a safety culture.
• Support integration of mechanical, electrical and control systems; apply open standards and advanced EPMS tech.
• Occasionally travel nationally to project sites and AECOM offices; balance office and hybrid work.
