Job summary

Mott MacDonald Bentley is seeking an Environmental Specialist to support water-sector projects across the UK. The role involves identifying environmental risks, coordinating inputs from ecology, heritage and related disciplines, and delivering compliant environmental assessments from feasibility through to construction.

You will liaise with regulators, engage with clients, and help develop mitigation strategies that balance cost, safety and environmental outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Identify environmental risks across project lifecycle and develop mitigation measures considering cost, time, compliance, safety and social impacts.
• Coordinate inputs from heritage, archaeology, ecology, geomorphology to ensure timely, standard-compliant environmental tasks.
• Produce environmental deliverables at milestones (e.g., EIA screening, environmental management plans).
• Lead liaison with environmental regulators and communicate with team members and stakeholders.
• Engage with clients on environmental and consenting matters and build strong relationships.
