Job summary

Mott MacDonald Bentley is seeking an Environmental Specialist to support environmental improvements across UK water projects. You will work with a co-located environment team supporting design and operation staff to deliver environmental enhancements and compliant solutions.

The role requires broad knowledge of ecology, archaeology, drainage, geotechnics, contaminated land, landscape and noise, with deeper expertise in at least one area. Travel to sites will be required.

Qualifications

• Identify environmental risks across the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate inputs from heritage, archaeology, ecology, geomorphology to ensure tasks meet standards.
• Experience in producing applications for environmental permits and consents such as flood risk activities and groundwater permits.

Responsibilities

• Identify specific environmental risks throughout the project lifecycle, from solution definition to completion.
• Support project teams to develop environmental risk mitigation measures considering cost, time, compliance, safety and social impacts.
• Identify, plan and coordinate inputs for environmental specialists to ensure tasks are completed on time and to required standards.
• Produce environmental deliverables at project milestones, including EIA screening assessments and environmental management plans.
• Lead liaison with environmental regulators and communicate with team members and stakeholders effectively.
• Engage with clients regarding environmental and consenting matters and build relationships.
• Demonstrate broad understanding of environmental disciplines and project risks, with deeper expertise in at least one area.
• Coordinate management of environmental aspects through planning, organisation, and communication.
