Job summary

Biffa Waste Services in Stratford-upon-Avon is seeking a Regulation Policy Lead to own and shape environmental policy and producer responsibility compliance. You will lead expert advice, manage submission templates, and work with stakeholders across sourcing, operations and commercial teams.

The role requires strong knowledge of producer responsibility regulations, EA procedures and data handling, with opportunities for career development and a competitive package.

Qualifications

• Degree-level qualification with strong Excel skills for large data files.
• Excellent knowledge of Producer Responsibility Regulations and practical application.
• Experience working with the Environment Agency and its procedures.
• Proficient in other office applications with high numeracy and literacy.
• Ability to interpret legislation and meet deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Subject matter expert for Packaging, WEEE & Battery Producer Responsibility.
• Manage a team of Compliance Managers and provide policy/regulatory advice.
• Monitor compliance processes and ensure alignment with regulations.
• Represent compliance schemes in government consultations, policy meetings, and trade associations.
• Provide team training on regulations and maintain training documentation.
• Manage the EA submission template, including registration and resubmissions.
• Maintain key client relationships through proactive account management.
• Support during busy periods, promote services, and ensure QA compliance.
