Environmental Planner (Policy)

Covering Central and Southern Scotland

Salary from £53,280 to £66,600 (dependant on experience)

Full time / Permanent / Hybrid

Scottish Power Energy Networks (SPEN) is expanding its transmission and distribution infrastructure across Scotland, England, and Wales. The Land & Planning Team plays a vital role in shaping policies and regulations to support this growth.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Developing and submitting consultation responses on planning, energy, and environmental legislation.
  • Ensuring consistency across teams and aligning responses with business objectives.
  • Contributing to stakeholder engagement strategies and influencing policy direction.
  • Supporting tracking and reporting of consultation responses within SPEN's license areas.
  • Acting as a key interface between internal stakeholders and national policy discussions.
  • Managing external workstreams and coordinating regulatory requirements.
  • Assisting in preparing briefing materials for senior leadership.
What You’ll Bring
  • Qualifications or experience in planning, environmental disciplines, land management, or related fields.
  • Project management skills, especially in regulatory or infrastructure contexts.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Ability to influence policies and ensure regulatory compliance.

Minimum Requirements
