Delivering the necessary consents through the planning system and environmental regulations is essential to achieving these growth targets. The Land & Planning Team plays a vital role in shaping policy and regulatory frameworks that enable efficient approvals, supporting the business's long-term objectives.
What You'll Be DoingSupporting the Strategic Planning Policy & Performance Manager and Head of Land & Planning, your responsibilities will include:
- Developing, coordinating, and submitting consultation responses on planning, energy, and environmental legislation.
- Ensuring consistency across teams, aligning responses with business objectives.
- Contributing to engagement strategies, influencing key stakeholders and policy direction.
- Supporting tracking and reporting of consultation responses within SPEN's license areas.
- Acting as a key interface between internal stakeholders and national policy discussions.
- Managing external workstreams, coordinating regulatory requirements efficiently.
- Assisting in the development of briefing materials for senior leadership.
What You'll Bring- Relevant qualifications or experience in planning, environmental disciplines, land management, or related fields.
- Project management expertise, particularly in regulatory or infrastructure environments.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, fostering collaboration across multiple parties.
- Excellent communication and relationship management, ensuring effective coordination.
- Ability to influence strategic decisions, shaping policies and regulatory compliance.
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities, anticipating challenges and implementing solutions.
- Resilience and determination, managing competing priorities with sound judgment.
- Experience working both independently and as part of a team.
Minimum Requirements- Fluent spoken and written English
- UK Driving Licence
- Experience in planning, environmental policy, land management, or related fields
- Ability to analyze and interpret legislative frameworks relevant to infrastructure projects
