Job summary

WSP USA is seeking an Associate Environmental Permitting Consultant to provide strategic environmental and regulatory leadership across energy, nuclear, industrial, and utilities projects. You’ll guide major permitting programmes, mentor junior staff, and help expand our national environmental permitting offering.

Working within a collaborative team, you’ll develop client relationships, win work, and contribute to business planning. Flexible UK locations with occasional UK travel are supported.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in environmental permitting, compliance and regulatory strategy.
• Expert knowledge of Environmental Permitting Regulations and frameworks.
• Track record of delivering complex, high-value projects across regulated sectors.
• Experience developing and maintaining strategic client relationships.
• Commercial awareness with experience supporting business development and winning work.
• Strong leadership skills and experience managing and developing teams.
• Professional accreditation and recognised expertise within environmental permitting.

Responsibilities

• Lead major permitting and compliance programmes for clients across sectors.
• Provide strategic environmental and regulatory advice to clients.
• Oversee delivery of complex technical work and develop our permitting offering nationwide.
• Win work, build client relationships and support team growth.
• Mentor junior staff, contribute to business planning and collaborate across teams.
