Job summary

Murphy is recruiting for an Environmental Manager to lead environmental and sustainability efforts across multiple energy projects in the North East and Yorkshire. The role requires driving compliance, reporting and continuous improvement through the SHESQ function.

You will manage risk across sites, lead investigations into incidents and help deliver Net Zero and sustainability objectives for major EPC projects in a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Chartered IEMA membership or equivalent preferred.
• Experience mitigating environmental risk on major construction projects.
• Knowledge of Net Zero principles and carbon measurement.
• Experience in environmental incident management and investigation.

Responsibilities

• Lead environmental and sustainability leadership in conjunction with SHESQ.
• Ensure personnel understand statutory duties and provide guidance as needed.
• Lead site teams to ensure compliance with environmental plans.
• Oversee investigations into accidents/incidents and recommend improvements.
• Review environmental statistics to identify trends and improvement areas.
• Develop and implement environmental campaigns and plans with Operations/SHES leadership.
• Prepare and review environmental documents including third-party reports.
• Produce plans, procedures and ensure compliance across projects.
• Identify environmental issues and set up contracts/yards with proper controls.
• Manage permits/consents and ensure they are obtained.
• Provide reports and presentations as directed by SHESQ/Biz.
• Assist with pre-qualification, tender submissions and environmental awards.
