Job summary

Murphy, a leading international engineering and construction company, is seeking an Environmental Manager to lead environmental and sustainability efforts across projects in the UK. The role emphasizes governance, statutory compliance, and continuous improvement of environmental performance.

You will oversee incident investigations, develop campaigns, manage documentation, and collaborate with the SHESQ function and Operations Director to deliver Net Zero initiatives and responsible site

Qualifications

• Chartered IEMA or equivalent environmental leadership certification.
• Strong understanding of environmental risk mitigation on major construction projects.
• Experience delivering environmental and sustainability plans and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Establish and provide leadership in environmental and sustainability matters with SHESQ function.
• Ensure personnel are aware of statutory duties and responsibilities and provide advice as required.
• Lead with site management teams to ensure compliance with environmental plans.
• Overlap investigations into incidents and provide recommendations to prevent recurrence.
• Collate and review environmental metrics to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
• Develop and implement environmental campaigns and improvement plans with Operations Director/SHES Director.
• Prepare and review environmental documents and ensure compliance with related permits and consents.
