Environmental Manager
Summary of Role
Reporting to the Quality Director, you will support the implementation of Hall & Kay Fire Services' business, quality, and EHS strategies. You will carry out regular audits to ensure compliance with environmental standards.
What you will be doing
- Support the implementation of Hall & Kay Fire Services' business, quality, and EHS strategies through conduct, behaviors, and actions.
- Undertake Environmental 14001 Compliance Audits and inspections at company and customer premises.
- Own, manage, and continuously improve the company's considerate construction scheme membership.
- Support continued compliance with all relevant internal processes, procedures, schemes, and regulatory standards.
- Manage and improve the company's ISO14001:2015 Management System.
- Develop and contribute to an effective audit and inspection program.
- Monitor changes in environmental legislation and ensure timely integration into the organization.
- Maintain and develop standard operating processes and procedures.
- Develop and deliver waste management training to service engineers and support waste documentation.
- Investigate environmental non-conformities/non-compliance issues, identify root causes, and develop corrective actions.
- Coordinate with Third Party Certification Bodies and support audits.
- Act as the company's waste champion, capturing legislative changes and embedding resources to improve recycling rates and waste transparency.
- Investigate, resolve, and report on customer complaints, incidents, and near misses.
What we will need from you
- Qualification in an environmental discipline (e.g., NEBOSH, HND, Degree), with a focus on waste management.
- Experience in the construction industry across multiple sites (desirable).
- Experience with The Considerate Construction Scheme (desirable).
- Proven experience with Management Systems: ISO14001:2015.
- Experience in conducting internal and third-party environmental audits.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and face-to-face.
- Ability to produce accurate and timely reports.
- Positive problem-solving approach.
- Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
- Professional behavior that promotes the company's image.
- Full, clean driving license.
- Willingness to travel between London and Manchester as required.
