Job description

Thrive Oldham are recruiting on behalf of Tameside Council for 2 x Environmental Cleaning Operatives

Positions include PA 1&6 weed spray and ride-on experience.

Main Duties and Responsibilities include:

1. Fly tipping removal
2. Litter picking
3. Emptying litter bins
4. Graffiti removal
5. Hedge trimming, including cutting back obstructive vegetation
6. Strimming
7. Removal of dead animals/syringes
8. Assist in staging various events
9. Use of small hand tools in a range of tasks

The duties may vary from time to time without changing the nature of the post or the level of responsibility. The post holder may also be required to carry out any other duties appropriate to the grading of the post.

Requirements:

• Possession of a full valid Driving Licence
• Experience of environmental maintenance tasks relevant to the work of the post
• Driving experience
• Ability to quickly learn new tasks and follow instructions
• Ability to use small hand tools and equipment safely, efficiently, and skillfully
• Ability to show initiative and work effectively with others
• Ability to work under pressure and in all weather conditions with appropriate protective clothing/equipment
• Willingness to undertake training and development to maintain competency
• Commitment to safety procedures and professional conduct

Desirable Experience/Qualifications:

• Landscaping or grounds maintenance experience
• Use of small machinery/hand tools
