Job summary

Shirley Parsons is recruiting for a leading tier one contractor on a landmark Birmingham infrastructure project. You will own the environmental delivery on site, shaping sustainable outcomes and influencing stakeholders to achieve industry-leading standards.

This role drives environmental strategy, embeds a culture of excellence, ensures ISO compliance, reports on progress, and collaborates with construction, design and commercial teams to maximise environmental performance.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of UK environmental legislation and its application on complex construction sites.
• Experience implementing ISO 14001 / ISO 50001 systems and driving site-wide environmental performance.
• Commercially aware with ability to balance sustainability goals with programme realities.
• Confident communicator capable of engaging diverse teams and presenting complex information clearly.
• MIEMA or working toward MIEMA; carbon and BREEAM assessments experience.

Responsibilities

• Leading environmental strategy on site and driving delivery across a major project.
• Embedding a culture of excellence and ensuring right-first-time practices.
• Influencing across the project lifecycle with construction, design, and commercial teams.
• Managing compliance and relationships with regulators, clients, and external bodies.
• Driving performance through audits, reports, and continuous improvement.
