Sharper Consulting Services is seeking an Environmental Health Officer (EHO) on behalf of our client in the Scottish Lowlands. The role involves working within the commercial food & safety team on a short-term contract basis. The expected contract length is 6-12 weeks, and it can be part-time or full-time.

The successful candidate will be experienced in conducting food safety and food standards inspections, responding to complaints and inquiries. Additionally, you will carry out infectious disease, health and safety investigations, and intervention work.

Experience and Qualifications:

1. Demonstrate substantial experience in conducting food inspections on behalf of a local authority.
2. Maintain a fully up-to-date competency matrix and engage in continuous professional development (CPD) to stay current with the latest food safety regulations and practices.
3. Hold a BSc/MSc in Environmental Health with REHIS/EHORB (or equivalent) registration.
4. Proven experience in the field of environmental health, specifically in food safety inspections.
5. Thorough understanding of relevant legislation and regulations governing food safety.
