Job Description:

MCS Group is seeking a proactive and skilled Environmental & Facilities Engineer to support the management and maintenance of on-site facilities and services for a leading manufacturing company based in the Greater Belfast area.

This role involves working across plant infrastructure, environmental systems, and site services to deliver improvements in compliance, cost, and efficiency.

Responsibilities:

1. Ensure all plant and facility systems comply with relevant legislation and industry standards.
2. Manage service contracts including water, compressors, forklifts, cranes, heating, and waste management.
3. Develop and maintain environmental databases and investigate environmental incidents.
4. Lead environmental audits and support external compliance activities (e.g., ISO 14001, PPC).
5. Drive initiatives to reduce energy use, waste, and environmental impact.
6. Coordinate with suppliers for equipment and services procurement.
7. Prepare technical specifications, review tenders, and present capital proposals.
8. Engage with regulatory bodies for audits, permits, and funding.
9. Identify and implement cost-saving projects.
10. Conduct risk and compliance assessments.

Qualifications:

• Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field.
• Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and compliance frameworks (e.g., ISO 14001, PPC).
