Job Description:

MCS Group is looking for a proactive and skilled Environmental & Facilities Engineer to support the management and maintenance of all on-site facilities and services for a leading manufacturing company based in the Greater Belfast area.

In this diverse and impactful role, you'll work across plant infrastructure, environmental systems, and site services, delivering measurable improvements in compliance, cost, and efficiency.

Responsibilities include:

• Ensuring all plant and facility systems comply with relevant legislation and industry standards.
• Managing service contracts for water, compressors, forklifts, cranes, heating, and waste management.
• Developing and maintaining environmental databases and investigating incidents.
• Leading internal environmental audits and supporting external compliance activities (e.g., ISO 14001, PPC).
• Driving initiatives to reduce energy use, waste, and environmental impact.
• Coordinating with suppliers for equipment sourcing.
• Preparing technical specifications, reviewing tenders, and presenting capital expenditure proposals.
• Liaising with regulatory bodies for audits, reporting, and permits.
• Identifying and implementing cost-saving projects.
• Conducting risk and compliance assessments.

Candidate criteria:

• Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field.
• Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and standards (e.g., ISO 14001, PPC).
