Job Description:

MCS Group is looking for a proactive and skilled Environmental & Facilities Engineer to support the management and maintenance of all on-site facilities and services for a leading Manufacturing company based in the Greater Belfast area.

In this diverse and impactful role, you'll work across plant infrastructure, environmental systems, and site services, delivering measurable improvements in compliance, cost, and efficiency.

Responsibilities include:

• Ensuring all plant and facility systems are compliant with relevant legislation and industry best practices.
• Managing service contracts including water, compressors, forklifts, cranes, heating, and waste management.
• Developing and maintaining environmental databases for reporting and investigating environmental incidents or concerns.
• Leading internal environmental audits and supporting external compliance activities (e.g., ISO 14001, PPC).
• Driving continuous improvement initiatives to reduce energy use, waste, and environmental impact.
• Coordinating with suppliers to source efficient equipment and services.
• Preparing technical specifications, reviewing tenders, and presenting capital expenditure proposals to senior leadership.
• Liaising with regulatory bodies for audits, reporting, permits, and funding opportunities.
• Identifying cost-saving opportunities and leading project implementations.
• Conducting risk and compliance assessments across environmental and facilities operations.

Candidate requirements:

• Degree-level education in Engineering, Environmental, or related fields.
• Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and compliance frameworks (e.g., ISO 14001, PPC).
