Job Description:

MCS Group is looking for a proactive and skilled Environmental & Facilities Engineer to support the management and maintenance of all on-site facilities and services for a leading Manufacturing company based in the Greater Belfast area.

In this diverse and impactful role, you'll work across plant infrastructure, environmental systems, and site services, delivering measurable improvements in compliance, cost, and efficiency.

Responsibilities include:

• Ensuring all plant and facility systems are compliant with relevant legislation and industry best practices.
• Managing service contracts for water, compressors, forklifts, cranes, heating, and waste management.
• Developing and maintaining environmental databases for reporting, and investigating environmental incidents or concerns.
• Leading internal environmental audits and supporting external compliance activities (e.g., ISO 14001, PPC).
• Driving continuous improvement initiatives to reduce energy use, waste, and environmental impact.
• Coordinating with suppliers for sourcing equipment and services.
• Preparing technical specifications, reviewing tenders, and presenting capital expenditure proposals to senior leadership.
• Liaising with regulatory bodies for audits, reporting, permits, and funding.
• Identifying and leading the implementation of cost-saving projects.
• Conducting risk and compliance assessments across environmental and facilities operations.

Candidate requirements:

• Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field.
• Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and compliance frameworks (e.g., ISO 14001, PPC).
