North East Lincolnshire Council is inviting applications for an Environmental Enforcement Assistant to join our Environmental Health & Housing team on a full-time permanent basis.

You will investigate environmental issues such as fly-tipping, waste offences and nuisances, carry out inspections, gather evidence, and work with residents, businesses and partner agencies to improve compliance and protect the local environment.

Qualifications

We are looking for a motivated and community-focused Environmental Enforcement Assistants to join our Environmental Health & Housing team on a full-time permanent basis.

This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who are passionate about protecting and improving the local environment, tackling environmental crime and nuisance, and making a visible difference to the communities ofNorth EastLincolnshire.

What will your day look like?

As an Environmental Enforcement Assistant, you will work at the heart of our communities investigating a wide range of environmental issues, including fly-tipping, waste offences, anti-social behaviour, dog fouling, stray dogs, abandoned vehicles, statutorynuisanceand other neighbourhood concerns.

You will carry out site inspections, gather evidence, support enforcement activity, engage with residents and businesses, and work alongside partner agencies to resolve problems and improve compliance. The role combines education,adviceand enforcement, requiring you tomaintainaccuraterecords, prepare reports and case files, and provide excellent customer service while supporting the Council's wider regulatoryobjectives.

Who are we looking for?

We'relooking for individuals who are confident,resilientand committed to delivering positive outcomes for local communities. You will have experience of dealing with complaints,investigationsor customer-facing situations, along with the ability to communicate effectively, manage conflict and build productive relationships with residents,businessesand partner organisations.

You should be organised, adaptable and comfortable working independently, using your initiative to solve problems and make informed decisions. Experience within an enforcement, regulatory or community-based role would beadvantageous, together with strong IT skills and an understanding of the importance of professionalism,confidentialityand fairness in public service.
