As an Engineer in the Traffic and Road Safety team you will have the opportunity to use your existing skills, knowledge and professional expertise to make your mark, grow your career and help shape the future of Highways and Transport in North East Lincolnshire.
As an Engineer, you’ll take a leading role in planning, designing, coordinating and delivering road safety engineering schemes and programmes.
You’ll use your professional judgement to assess risks, interpret standards, develop solutions and make sure works are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with statutory requirements and best practice.
Your day could involve developing designs, reviewing technical information, managing contractors, overseeing site activity, monitoring project performance or preparing reports and recommendations. You’ll also provide professional advice to colleagues, stakeholders, elected Members and the public, helping resolve issues and support good decision-making.
This is a role where you’ll be trusted to lead defined projects through the full lifecycle, balancing safety, quality, cost, risk and delivery.
We’re looking for an experienced Road Safety Engineering professional who can manage projects, work confidently with contractors and stakeholders, and bring sound judgement to technical decisions.
You’ll need strong organisational skills, good communication skills and the ability to translate complex technical matters into clear, accessible information. You’ll be comfortable working with drawings, specifications, reports, data and risk assessments.
You’ll also understand the importance of collaboration. This role will suit someone who can take ownership, build relationships and deliver practical solutions that work for everyone who travels around North East Lincolnshire.
