Job summary

Stoke-on-Trent City Council is seeking Environmental Crime Officers to join the Environmental Crime Unit based at The Weighbridge Site, Cromer Road, Northwood. You will carry out enforcement activities and support city-wide enforcement services.

The role requires dealing with the public in challenging situations, good verbal and written communication, and a willingness to work unsociable hours. Fixed-term contracts until 31 March 2028, 37 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Experience dealing with the public in difficult situations.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out environmental enforcement activities (fly tipping, littering, dog fouling, etc.).
• Support delivery of enforcement services across the city.
• Issue Fixed Penalty Notices (FPNs) and Community Protection Notices (CPNs) in line with policy.
