Job summary

South Lanarkshire Council is seeking an Environmental Health Technical Assistant to support fly tipping enforcement and related offences, collecting evidence and assisting in court where required. The role is based in Hamilton with 35 hours per week and a temporary contract of 22 months.

The salary ranges from £29,745 to £32,008 per year, and a driving licence is required to visit all district areas. You will join the Environmental Crime Team and work to improve public safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Excellent literacy, numerical and IT skills.
• Ability to organise workload effectively and meet demanding goals.
• Driving licence required to visit all district areas.

Responsibilities

• Enforce legislation related to Fly Tipping and environmental behaviour.
• Assist in evidence gathering and potentially give testimony in court.
• May be involved in litter and dog fouling enforcement.
