Job summary

Hyper Recruitment Solutions Ltd is seeking an Environmental Enforcement Officer to join a leading local authority. This field-based role covers multiple locations across the district, focusing on enforcing environmental legislation and addressing issues such as waste crime and fly tipping.

You will investigate reports, serve notices, collect evidence for enforcement, and support prosecutions, with a strong emphasis on community safety and environmental protection.

Qualifications

• Degree or higher in Environmental Health, Waste Regulation, Criminal Investigation, or related field.
• Proven enforcement experience in regulatory or legal environments with knowledge of environmental legislation.
• Full driving licence and access to a vehicle for work.

Responsibilities

• Investigate reports of environmental offences and collect evidence for enforcement.
• Enforce waste-related legislation, including fly tipping, littering and illegal waste treatment.
• Prepare, serve and manage notices, including fixed penalty notices.
• Conduct site visits, supervise remedial actions and seize evidence safely.
• Lead enforcement cases and provide expert evidence in court.
