Job summary

SSEN Transmission is seeking an Assistant Consents and Environment Manager (Operations) to support the Networks team in maintaining assets while ensuring ecological consenting and environmental requirements are integrated into asset management. The role is based in Scotland with 50% office time in Perth, Aberdeen or Inverness.

Qualifications

• Degree (or equivalent) in an ecological discipline, ideally with postgraduate qualification.
• Experience with environmental legislation and consenting regimes.
• Proven project management skills including oversight, cost control, risk management.
• Experience obtaining ecological permits and licences.
• Proactive and adaptable approach to changing environment.

Responsibilities

• Support operational teams in maintaining the network while integrating ecological requirements into asset management.
• Collaborate with the Consents and Environment team to ensure planning conditions are understood early for effective handover.
• Implement monitoring regimes for Biodiversity Net Gain and protected species with guidance to operations.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders including authorities.
