Allen & York are delighted to be working with a leading airport in the southwest of England as they look to recruit an Environmental Compliance Specialist to sit in the Planning & Corporate Affairs Team and be an integral part of maintaining the Airport's Environmental Management System in accordance with ISO 14001.
Reporting to the Head of Sustainability and Social Value, you will be responsible for planning, scheduling and conducting environmental audits and overseeing environmental monitoring, ensuring licences and permits are up to date and comply with ISO 14001. You will also be responsible for liaising with the Environment Agency and other external bodies, so your stakeholder engagement skills will be excellent.
You'll prepare audit reports, assist in the preparation and coordination of external ISIO audits, you'll make sure all documentation, policies and procedures are up to date and it will be your role to deliver training and coaching, ensuring all departments are aware of any changes, to ensure best practice.

In order to be considered for the role, you will hold a relevant degree, be a Member of IEMA and have experience of environmental auditing and compliance. You will be a self-starter, have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to forge strong relationships with a range of stakeholders. If you have experience of working in the infrastructure sector, specifically aviation, that will be advantageous but an interest in the sector and willingness to learn is important.
Based on site at the airport, they do operate a hybrid working model, so you will be able to work from home two to three days a week, but initially, you will be required to attend the offices three days a week.
So, if you have the relevant skills and experience and you'd like to join a growing business with a strong sustainability strategy, please contact kpereira@allen-york.com.
