Job summary

STRABAG invites applications for an Environmental Manager to lead the EMS on a major UK infrastructure project, reporting to Subdivision Head of Environment and Sustainability, with responsibility across multiple sites.

You will ensure compliance with environmental legislation, manage teams of Environmental Advisors, develop RAMS, liaise with regulators, and drive continuous improvement while supporting the UK energy transition.

Qualifications

• Degree in Environmental Science or Environmental Management
• Proven experience in Power/Transmission sector
• Knowledge of UK environmental regulations
• Full UK driver’s licence
• Geographically mobile across UK and Ireland for extended periods
• Strong written English and communication skills
• Chartered or progress toward chartership
• Experience in main contractor context

Responsibilities

• Lead the Environmental Management System (EMS) on a large UK infrastructure project.
• Line manage Environmental Advisors, Senior Environmental Advisors and Technicians.
• Ensure EMS compliance across design, procurement and site teams.
• Maintain Impacts and Aspects Register and legal register.
• Develop RAMS and oversee EMS documents and plans.
• Coordinate inspections, audits and environmental monitoring activities.
• Liaise with client and regulators to obtain permits and consents.
• Respond to non-compliances and escalate to project directorate when needed.
• Deliver environmental communications and training plans.
• Coordinate regulator liaison and ensure adherence to legislation and policy.
