As an Assistant Team Leader, you will lead a flexible and responsive multi-disciplinary team to ensure that the environmental quality of all Vico Homes estates are maintained to a high standard.

What you’ll be doing

• Effectively manage a team of Environmental Officers covering the Wakefield district and wider operating area ensuring policies and procedures are followed in accordance with safe working practices.
• Scope and price larger jobs on estates along with monitoring and ensuring a high level of environmental quality across our estates is achieved.
• Proactively respond to jobs to maintain the condition of the environment on our estates.
• Work alongside our estate management teams to prioritise jobs to support the management of our tenancies.
• Monitor the teams use of equipment through machinery checks, managing training needs and ensuring teams are supported to plan their workload.

What we’re looking for

To join our Environmental Team as an Assistant Team Leader, we’re looking for someone with:

Experience of managing or completing outdoors clearance and maintenance work, including gardens, litter picking, tree maintenance, clearance of rubbish and fly tipping.

Line management skills and experience in supervising large, dispersed teams, with a commitment to support.

The ability to work on various IT packages to manage jobs logged, complete management checks on fleet and machinery, and review queries from the wider company.

Organisational skills to plan in planned and reactive works ensuring cover and support for small and large jobs on estates.

A strong focus on health and safety, ensuring the team are trained and working with safe machinery.
