Qualifications

• Experience as Environmental Advisor in construction or civil engineering projects.
• Strong understanding of environmental legislation and compliance.
• Experience managing environmental risks and controls across earthworks, water and ecology.
• Familiar with ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems.
• Experience with environmental permits, licences and planning conditions.

Contract Environmental Advisor and Manager

Various Locations across Scotland

I'm currently recruiting for a Contract Environmental Advisor and Manager to support the delivery of major infrastructure and energy projects. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced environmental professional to join a high-performing project team and play a key role in ensuring environmental compliance and sustainability standards are maintained throughout the project lifecycle.

As an Environmental Advisor or Manager, you will:

• Promote environmental best practice and sustainability across project teams
• Conduct site inspections and audits to ensure environmental compliance
• Investigate environmental incidents and implement corrective actions
• Monitor and report environmental and sustainability performance
• Support environmental improvement initiatives and campaigns
• Advise project teams on environmental legislation, compliance and risk management
• Manage environmental permits, licences and consent requirements
• Liaise with ecology and environmental specialists
• Maintain accurate environmental records and documentation

Qualifications & Experience

• Previous experience in an Environmental Advisor role within construction, infrastructure, utilities, power, energy or civil engineering
• Strong understanding of environmental legislation and compliance requirements
• Demonstrable experience managing environmental risks and controls relating to:
  • Earthworks and soil management
  • High pH material management
  • Ecology risks, including protected species and World Heritage Sites
  • Water management and peatland environments
  • Noise and dust mitigation
  • Pollution prevention and environmental protection measures
  • Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG)
  • Environmental permits, licences and planning conditions
• Experience supporting large-scale infrastructure or civil engineering projects
• Knowledge of ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems
• ISEP membership or working towards professional accreditation is advantageous
