Job summary

Principal People are recruiting an Environmental Advisor to support major infrastructure projects across Thames Valley on a hybrid basis. You will provide practical environmental guidance to site teams, drive compliance and embed best practices across projects.

Seeking an Environmental Qualification (ISEP or equivalent) or degree, with construction/infrastructure experience and strong communication to influence teams. ISEP membership is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction/infrastructure/utilities sectors.
• Good understanding of environmental legislation and environmental management systems.
• Ability to engage and influence operational teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical environmental advice to site and operational teams across the framework.
• Support implementation of environmental strategies, policies and management systems.
• Conduct site inspections, audits and compliance reviews.
• Investigate incidents and drive corrective actions.
• Monitor environmental performance and support continuous improvement.
• Assist subcontractors and supply chain in meeting environmental requirements.

Are you an Environmental Advisor looking for an opportunity to make a real impact on major infrastructure projects while developing your career with an established contractor?

Principal People are working with a leading infrastructure contractor, recognised for its commitment to employee development and career progression, to recruit an Environmental Advisor supporting projects across the Thames Valley on a hybrid basis.

Working alongside an experienced and supportive environmental team, you will play a key role in ensuring environmental compliance, driving improvements in standards and embedding best practices across projects.

What will you be doing?

• Providing practical environmental advice and guidance to site and operational teams across the framework.
• Supporting the implementation of environmental strategies, policies and management systems.
• Conducting site inspections, environmental audits and compliance reviews.
• Investigating environmental incidents, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
• Monitoring environmental performance and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
• Supporting subcontractors and supply chain partners in meeting environmental requirements.
• Building effective relationships with project teams, clients and external stakeholders.

What are they looking for?

• A relevant Environmental Qualification (ISEP or Equivalent) or Degree.
• Experience working within construction, infrastructure or utilities sector.
• A good understanding of environmental legislation, compliance and environmental management systems.
• Strong communication skills with the confidence to engage and influence operational teams.
• ISEP Practitioner membership, or working towards it, would be advantageous.
