Job summary

Principal People Recruitment is partnering with a leading infrastructure contractor to appoint an Environmental Advisor hybrid in the Thames Valley. You will provide practical environmental guidance to site teams and help embed best practices across projects.

The role offers ongoing CPD and progression opportunities within a supportive environmental team. The candidate should hold an environmental qualification (ISEP or equivalent) or a relevant degree, with construction/infrastructure sector

Qualifications

• Relevant environmental qualifications (ISEP or equivalent) or degree required.
• Experience in construction, infrastructure or utilities sectors preferred.
• Solid understanding of environmental legislation, compliance and EMS.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical environmental advice to site and operations teams across the framework.
• Support implementation of environmental strategies, policies and EMS.
• Conduct site inspections, audits and compliance reviews.
• Investigate incidents, identify root causes and drive corrective actions.
• Monitor environmental performance and support continuous improvement.
• Support subcontractors and supply chain in meeting environmental requirements.
• Build relationships with project teams, clients and stakeholders.

Are you an Environmental Advisor looking for an opportunity to make a real impact on major infrastructure projects while developing your career with an established contractor?

Principal People are working with a leading infrastructure contractor, recognised for its commitment to employee development and career progression, to recruit an Environmental Advisor supporting projects across the Thames Valley on a hybrid basis.

Working alongside an experienced and supportive environmental team, you will play a key role in ensuring environmental compliance, driving improvements in standards and embedding best practices across projects.

What will you be doing?

• Providing practical environmental advice and guidance to site and operational teams across the framework.

• Investigating environmental incidents, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
• Monitoring environmental performance and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
• Supporting subcontractors and supply chain partners in meeting environmental requirements.
• Building effective relationships with project teams, clients and external stakeholders.

What are they looking for?

• A relevant Environmental Qualification (ISEP or Equivalent) or Degree.
• Experience working within construction, infrastructure or utilities sector.
• A good understanding of environmental legislation, compliance and environmental management systems.
• Strong communication skills with the confidence to engage and influence operational teams.
• ISEP Practitioner membership, or working towards it, would be advantageous.
