Job summary

Leicestershire County Council in Leicester seeks an Environment and Waste Data Analyst to support the delivery of high-quality waste and environmental services at County Hall. You will take ownership of receiving, processing and validating data and invoices, including contributions to statutory returns.

You will work with the team to improve reporting, budgets and service delivery, and may benefit from flexible working arrangements while maintaining 37 hours per week at a permanent post.

Qualifications

  • GCSE maths and English or equivalent.
  • Experience in data analysis using MS Office to collate information and produce reports.
  • Knowledge of waste management services provided by local authorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with good numeric skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with ability to plan and prioritise work.
  • Knowledge and experience of budget monitoring.

Work Location: County Hall, Glenfield, Leicester, LE3 8RA

Salary: £28,605 - £31,029 per annum (pro-rata for part-time) (pay award pending)

Working Hours:37 hours per week

Contract Type: Permanent

About the Role

As a key member of the team, you will support the delivery of high-quality waste and environmental services, working closely with your line manager to deliver environment and waste management activities, services, projects or initiatives as required. You will take ownership of receiving, processing and validating waste and environmental data and associated invoices including contribution to statutory returns.

About You

To apply for this post, you must be able to evidence in your application how you meet the following criteria:

  • Hold a GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English OR Hold a BTEC National, NVQ3 or equivalent Level 3 qualification
  • Experience in data analysis, using MS Office packages sufficient to collate information and produce reports
  • Knowledge of waste management services that local authorities provide and how they provide them
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal as well as good numeric skills
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to plan and priorities own work
  • Knowledge and experience of budget monitoring
